Dr. Han Woo Park is Professor, and the head of a research lab called “Big Local Big Pulse” at YeungNam University, South Korea. He is a founder of Cyber Emotions Research Institute and established the World Association for Triple Helix and Future Strategy Studies (WATEF). His research focuses on the use, impact, and role of online media and/or biggish data in extending academic, governmental, and business communications. He is Chief Editors for Journal of Contemporary Eastern Asia and Quality & Quantity.
Dr. Park was known as a pioneer in computational communication methods in the early 2000s (often called Webometrics, Hyperlink Network Analysis). The SCIMago-EPI and the Association for Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T) awarded him best paper prizes. He has appeared on the list of core-candidates for the Derek de Solla Price Medal. He was named by the Publons as top 1% peer reviewer and ranked as top scientist in Computer Science & Electronics field by the Guide2Research. According to Research.com, he came in first in Korea for Social Sciences and Humanities Scientists.
