Abdul (he/him) is a lecturer in the School of Communication and Design at RMIT University Vietnam. He has led research projects related to social change, information behavior, and the socio-technical impact of digital and social media platforms in Southeast Asia. He is the author of ‘Conflict, Continuity, and Change in Social Movements in Southeast Asia’ (Routledge, 2023). His recent work centers around digital and social media and groups who have been historically marginalized in Vietnam and Indonesia; and civil society groups’ resilience against repressive practices during COVID-19 pandemic in Southeast Asia.
