Florens Mayer is a political researcher and consultant. He studied political studies, public law and modern history at the University of Giessen (Germany) and the University of Leicester (UK). During his studies he held a scholarship from the Konrad-Adenauer-Foundation. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Muenster (Germany). In his dissertation he focused on the Germans’ attitude towards the use of military force after the German reunification. In 2013 he worked as a lecturer on that topic at the University of Muenster.

In 2012 he started working for the German opinion research institute dimap. Since 2014 he represents the institute in Berlin and works together with political parties, governmental institutes and foundations. He emphasizes on political opinion polls, political communication and campaigning. He especially helps political parties targeting potential voters precisely with direct mail campaigns or canvassing activities.

Since 1996 a dimap joint venture infratest dimap has been the exclusive partner of the premier public television broadcaster in Germany, ARD, for political opinion research, exit polls and election night coverage.
