Duterte wants to kill all drug dealers in the Philippines, Trump wants a huge wall to Mexico and the British want their money back. Simple answers to difficult questions have become more common than just two years ago. This rediscovery of populism comes along with polarization. In the Philippines you are either for Duterte or against him. Same in the US. No way to escape. And President Erdogan in Turkey calls everyone who doesn’t support his policy a terrorist and sends him to jail. In this session we will analyze the phenomenon from an academic and a practical perspective and discuss it with the audience.
